As you may know by now, Walter Kidde Portable Equipment (hereafter “Kidde”) announced and began an aggressive media notification program to communicate that they are recalling over 40 million plastic handle and push-button pindicator fire extinguishers sold in the U.S. and Canada, some of which were used in the RV industry. More information can be obtained about the recall and how to inspect for the affected model fire extinguishers at www.kidde.com.
This is to notify you that if a recalled Kidde fire extinguisher is found in a recreational vehicle on your lot inventory, new or used, it must be replaced prior to the retail sale of that recreational vehicle.
We have been in communication with Kidde and understand there may be supply limitations in the early stages of this recall. They have assured us that any new or used inventory that retails and contains an affected model fire extinguisher that needs remedy prior to retail delivery will be eligible for a free replacement with limited delay by contacting them Toll Free at 855-271-0773 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Saturday and Sunday, or online at www.kidde.comand click on “Product Safety Recall” for more information.
